OpenWRT/LEDE packages? (SOLVED)

Post by Stry » Mon Apr 02, 2018 10:07 am

Hi,

It'd be nice if packages for rtlsdrblog's binaries like biast were available for openwrt/lede.

Can't it be easily compiled directly?

I've tried and am unable to compile rtl_biast for Openwrt.
I've asked on IRC thinking lots of folks use it with openwrt but no luck after which I posted here.

Any chance of this? Even binaries compatible with openwrt would be great as I'm unable to test my rtlsdrblog ADSB preamp.

I think I replied to you by email but will repeat here too.

It seems that for OpenWRT you need to cross-compile the programs on another machine first (since routers don't have enough memory/space for compilation), and then figure out how to package it into opkg. Doesn't seem like an easy task for someone not familiar with the inner workings of OpenWRT unfortunately.

If you're handy with a soldering iron, you can remove the bias tee LDO, and manually bridge the 5V pads. That would make the bias tee be ON always.

I built rtl_biast for the x86/64 platform on OpenWRT 17.01.4 running kernel 4.9.72
A multimeter confirms 4.48V to 4.7V output depending on the length of the USB cable.
I'm having trouble packaging it for OpenWRT, but here are the binaries and OWRT Makefile for others.

All files in the .tgz archive go under '/usr/', so
/usr/lib/
/usr/bin/
/usr/include/

biast_binary.tgz: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1HPdT6 ... v3fm_b3sLf
OpenWRT Makefile used: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/vhrx7M8ywT/
