Stock dipole antenna kit orientation

Post by Jekko » Wed Nov 14, 2018 1:11 pm

I have made other antennas but i do love this little antenna kit.
It makes really miracles catching signals very far from my house.

In the related page, about the orientation there is this indication:

"When used in the vertical orientation, the element connected to the center conductor should be pointing UP. You can check which element is connected to the center conductor by removing the top cap on the dipole base. This will let you look inside at the connections."

It is for sure for my poor experience and my bad english but I haven't understood which is the side to point up. I have managed to remove the cap but i didn't go further.

I have tried both ways but i didn't see much difference in the signal.

Could please someone post a picture where there is indicated which is the side of the dipole to point up?
Thank you so much

The center element is the smaller wire with the plastic on it. The ground element is the wire that's all braid.

In reality the orientation doesn't really matter too much.
