SDR Internet

Post by ILSAPP » Wed Jan 17, 2018 3:53 pm

Hello all,

I'd like to know if there is a possibility of using a HF radio that connects to the internet via WiFi so that I can hear what is receiving in another location. I have the space to erect an antenna in a house I can't spend much time so I'd really want to have the possibility of using the internet to listen at distance to that HF radio.
Is it possible? I think that a raspberry and a rtl-sdr will do the job?

Thank you

Look up KiwiSDR as well. Some examples at www.sdr.hu.

Airspy units also have the SpyServer software which allows for remote usage.

Many thanks for the reply rtlsdrblog.
I have now researched what is available on the web for not such an expensive price. Guess I will go with the Airspy HF+. It has also the advantage of receiving VHF comms.
