HAM digital @ 144.470

Post by JEL » Sun Mar 04, 2018 4:32 pm

Just captured this and couldn't find any mode in multipsk that seemed to decode it.

It kept repeating its sequence and I recorded 2 runs; one on USB and one on LSB (Since I don't know which one may be correct for it)

I also looked through the signal-wiki but couldn't find any signal that seemed to match it.

This is recorded in Denmark on a tube-antenna (Hanging indoors) tuned for the aviation-airband (The aluminum antenna I have talked about in a different post on this forum)

Does anybody know what it is and how to decode it?
Thanks.

I have now found out what it is.

It is this beacon; "The world's oldest beacon" :) : http://www.oz7igy.dk/

It is USB and the frequency should be 144.470.200 Hz, so I got it a bit wrong in the video apparently (I thought the long static tone should be at 1,000 Hz, thinking it was a kind of guide-tone, but apparently not)

The coding is "PI4", and the decoding-software (Windows and Linux) is found here (I have not tried them yet, but the dates of the files suggest they are both actively maintained) : https://www.rudius.net/oz2m/ngnb/software.htm
