Wideband loop antenna amplifier (kit)

Post by Tony_m » Sat Jun 23, 2018 3:28 pm

Hi everybody!

I've already ordered differential HF loop antenna amplifier kit from RHelectronics I'm planing to build this kit and loop antenna for it. Just for learning and testing purposes.

But since I have SDR, this antenna is not great for that purpose (narrow bandwidth). I'm still quite new in ham radio field, don't have good electronics building skills, so it would be great to find cheap wideband loop antenna amplifier kit (pcb with parts).

There's is some already build commercial active wideband loop antenna amplifiers, such as:
LZ1AQ or Blue Wave

But those are a) already build; b) not so cheap - together with shipment would cost around $100.

So my question is - does anybody stumbled upon on reasonable design (not to be the greatest possible), cheap (10-30 dollars/euros etc.) wideband loop antenna amplifier, which is currently on sale?

It's very strange to me - you can find and get pretty cheaply various ready-to-use (or in kit form) devices - up-converters, power supplies, general purpose RF amps, geiger counter boards - almost anything you can imagine - but not loop amps.

I haven't seen any products like this either. We're working on a product like this, but it's still a few months out.

That's great news! I have the RH kit as well, but haven't put together yet (besides, it only goes down to 3 MHz and i do a fair bit of longwave stuff), so i will leave that until yours comes out. Great work!!

That's great news! Especially when RTL-SDR community more oriented to higher frequencies than HF - airband, satellite communication, ADS-B and so on.

Can't wait so see what you, guys will create!
