HF Signal like Radio!?

Post by Username » Wed Jul 25, 2018 9:00 am

Hi
I found many Signals on <30Mhz who Sound like like the Digital Radio: https://www.sigidwiki.com/wiki/DRM but the are much less Bandwith. The use ~3khz Bandwith. The Sound like some QAM,OFDM Modulation.
Does anyone have an Idea what that can be and how to decode under Win?
Thanks

Probably STANAG 4285 https://www.sigidwiki.com/wiki/STANAG_4285.

You can try decoding some with Sigmira or Sorcerer, but these are encrypted military channels so if their in use you'll receive nothing with those programs. Sometimes they run in a test mode though, and you can get test text showing up.

There are other STANAGs versions out there, but 4285 is the most common.

Other formats that sound the same? Not that I know of. But look through the HF section on sigidwiki, and play any that have squarish looking waterfalls.
