Problem with RTL-SDR V3 and SDR# 64bit

Post by ANDY321 » Thu Apr 18, 2019 8:14 pm

I am hoping someone here can see where I am going wrong. I have my V3 working just fine with sdr#32bit on my tablet running win10 home edition 64 bit I am very pleased with it. However with the 64bit version of Sdr# on the same tablet the V3 doesn't show. If I click on the setting cog the device drop down menu is greyed out. I've run the install-rtlsdr then zadig as administrator. For for some reason I no longer see the bulk interface 1 and 0 options but I do see Rtl2838UHIDIR so I select that and instal the winUSB v6.1.760.16385. In device manager I see Rtl2838UHIDIR. I did uninstal RTL in device manager but again I had the same problem. I would welcome any advice. Thanks Andy

The 64-bit version might not properly support the RTL-SDR, since the drivers are compiled as 32-bit. I don't see any reason to use the 64-bit version though.

Thanks for the reply. If there is no real benefit in using the 64bit version then I will just continue with the 32bit version. I did read that some plugins don't work in the 64bit version so that might have been my next problem.

Yeah I believe that the 64bit version is only experimental for those who want it. Most plugins won't work on it.
