This needs clarifying.
IS it really a V3, the model with direct sampling? If so the -40000000 offset makes no sense. I note https://www.rtl-sdr.com/rtl-sdr-quick-start-guide/ mentions counterfeit ones.
I do not know about RTL direct sampling with HDSDR just that a particular DLL has to be used and direct sampling enabled. If setup correctly no performance difference should be noticed.

The home of SDR# is, despite it's name, here https://airspy.groups.io/g/main

Thanks for your comments, radiolistener.

The hardware was given to me by an amateur radio friend and is one marketed by Waters & Stanton under their Watson brand. He said that he couldn't get on with using a mouse and much preferred to twiddle knobs on a conventional receiver. He said that the Watson device was the same as the V3 marketed by RTL-SDR and that he understood that it contained an upconvertor.

I wondered whether it used direct sampling, but the Watson literature, such as it is, doesn't actually say, but states "40MHz local oscillator for HF conversion". But in all respects it seems iodentical to RTL-SDR and my eyesight certainly wouldn't cope with the small screens of v1.2 of SDRUno.

you can resize SDRuno screens to desired size with mouse.
Unfortunately it doesn't save setting between sessions, but you can resize it after startup.

But not, it seems, the initial screen, certainly dragging the corner moves the whole window across the screen. Without doubt it is a very messy interface and not one that would give me pleasure to use. Thanks for your response.

Probably you're tap window at wrong point. Use button on the right-bottom corner to resize it.
