Initial Setup

Post by AF1E » Wed Oct 02, 2019 4:40 pm

I am doing my initial setup. RP boots and I see it connected to phone. I can VNC to the PI. Power shows good but when I start processing I don't see an update rate. Just "-ms". I am using the latest Pi image on an RP3+. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Check that you have at MINIMUM 3 AMP source for Kerberos. Also, the quality of the cable connecting it to that power source. Just because the light inside comes on and you are showing some level of communication is NOT enough. To prove you have enough power you can turn off all receivers but the first one and test according to the post here. viewtopic.php?f=9&t=4640

I have upgraded my power supply form 2.5 to 3.0 amps. I ran the tests and all look good (see attached). Still not showing a refresh rate. Any more suggestions?

Whats your USB cable from the Pi to KerberosSDR like? THis also needs to be a high quality cable.

Try running rtl_test on all 4 devices simultaneously (open different terminal windows). See if they all stay active.

I'm working now. Not sure if it was the USB cable or a dip switch since one of the SDRs was not ok when I tested all at same time.

Now for some live testing. Thanks for the help.
