Newbie: It's Christmas, should I ask for RTL-SDR V3 dongle for general exploration?

Do I need to get a specialized sdr to do the ADS-B stuff or can I do it, just not really well with the standard package on offer here for $29.95?: RTL-SDR Blog R820T2 RTL2832U 1PPM TCXO SMA Software Defined Radio with Dipole Antenna Kit

I'll download a bunch of software programs and see what I can do find to listen to. I'm guessing this should be good enough as a starting out point.

Am I right?

That kit is a start.
In fact some serious work is done with RTLs.
Specialist antennas, filters, preamps can improve them considerably.

Thanks, Alan. Santa has been supplied with a URL. She gets a cappuccino machine, so I think it's a good ask.
