High pitch noise from the Raspberry

Post by monk » Tue Dec 01, 2020 1:50 pm

Hello!

My configuration is Raspberry 4 with SaundBlaster PLay 3, RTL-SDR dongle connected with a 20 cm USB extender cable and the official Rpi touchscreen running on 64bit Manjaro linux. Additional wireless USB mouse and keyboardThe device is powered by a Meanwell adapter. All this is inside my car.

After pluging the rtl-sdr dongle in Rpi I can hear a high pitch noise coming from the Raspberry. The noise gets low if I decrease the screen brightness. It goes away if I unplug the rtl-sdr or the audio cable.

Can I have some directions what may be wrong...
Thanks!

Wild guess - you are drawing to much power and the PSU (and components on the RPi board) are complaining.

Thanks for the suggestion! I've tried slightly increasing the voltage, but there is no change...
