Linux PC -- No supported device found. WTF?

Hi all!

I successfully installed Debian Linux 10.7 and passed all the steps for PC:

No errors were reported.

Restarted PC, and tried to test the receivers.
Sadly, all test commands

rtl_test -d 0 
rtl_test -d 1
rtl_test -d 2
rtl_test -d 3

says No supported device found (all 4 vartiants).

All 4 DIP switches is in the bottom position (when 40 pin header is at directed the bottom as well).

Kerberos is brand new.
Powered from PC and at the same time powered from HQ 3A USB power supply.
All cables is HQ tool - from Nokia, Logitech, Motorola, etc. devices. Replaced a few cables, restarted PC a few times, but no luck.

But something is lit inside the Kerberos.

WTF?

lsusb shows 4 devices and they are all has nothing common with SDR. If I unplug KSDR, lsusb remains the same.

Both mouse and USB flash sticks works fine when plugged to the same ports.
Also, they appear in lsusb output as should.

When plugged to the PC with Windows 7, device appear as Generic USB Hub with Code 10 error.

Meanwhile dmesg shows:

Switching to other USB port doesn't help:

PC cable to KSDR replacement doesn't help any. Tried 3 cables from famous brands. Tried short cable - just 1 inch - and the same story. Tried one new cable from fresh Chinese smartphone. No luck.

Both ports are USB 3.2 Gen 1.

PC is Laptop powered from the mains.

Linux run on bare hardware.

What it this?

Problem was solved by adding external USB hub. The solution doesn't look beautiful, but it works.
A lot of wires and power sources around, looks ugly and unreliable, but it's better than just a silver brick.

I am running into this same problem and running it through a hub doesn't help. Can you post some of the text from dmesg when this is running properly, such as the idVendor? I still don't know what to look for in dmesg if the Kerberos SDR is running properly. Certainly, the rtl_test isn't working.

I am running into this same problem and running it through a hub doesn't help.

Get a good active USB hub. With 3A power supply. Pay attention to DLink DUB-H7, TP-Lnk UH700 or TPLink UH720.

This one eBay link works just file.

I'm running into the same problem as @EIKA and @ckoval7 : got a brand new KerberosSDR device connected to a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B 4GB, running a patched IMG 1.6.1, according to this thread, otherwise it wouldn't boot.

I tried using a powered USB hub (Kensignton K39122EU), but I get the same result: the device isn't recognized.
When connecting the KerberosSDR to the powered hub, on either of the micro-USB ports, I see a white light in the box, I assume this means there's enough power but just to be safe, I'm connecting both micro-USB ports to the hub.

Tried various cables from different manufacturers that work just fine for other devices.
