Sigimira Decoder now supports the RTL-SDR Directly

Sigmira is a popular free Windows software program which supports decoding of radio modes such as PSK31, RTTY, CW, STANAG 4285, Japanese Slot Machine, FSK, HFDL and M141 as well as standard modes such as NFM, AM, USB and LSB.

Previously Sigmira could be used with the RTL-SDR by piping audio into it from another program such as SDR#. In the latest version that was just released Sigmira now directly supports connecting to the RTL-SDR, allowing for a spectrographic display and point and click tuning. Sigmira also now includes a database with frequencies of over 2000 known signals.

My copy (Running on XP 5 @ 2.2Ghz) Just crashes when I click RTL-SDR! Needs more work, me thinks.

I have a converter but can find no settings to set up the converter in the programme also the freq display will not go below 24mhz

I have the RTL-SDR which does shortwave, but Sigmira doesn’t do Direct Sampling Q branch 🙁

You are quite correct, George – unless you use a ham-it-up converter – then the RTL can handle hearing frequencies below 24 Mhz Mike

Michael Agner

In case you were wondering – Sigmira is primarily useful on the HF bands, so the RTL-SDR would need a ham-it-up converter or similar to tune freqs that use this mode.

george

Sigmira using the RTL-SDR will not go below 24mhz so using it on the lower HF bands is not possible
